The Crystal Kingdom of Chalcedonia was once a beautiful place, under the rule of Princess Rosalia, they lived happy peaceful lives. Until one day, monsters called Nightmares destroyed the kingdom. Princess Rosalia and her fairy knight Diana hid deep in the castle, praying that their last hope, the magical Rose Crystal Mirror would produce a miracle, and save their home, however, they were attacked by the leader of the Nightmare Agency, Druzy. Diana fought helplessly before finding herself transported to Earth, but her Princess was nowhere to be seen.
Unfortunately, the nightmares began to attack this new world too. Valerie Amaranth, an ordinary 16-year-old, has her world changed forever when she receives the powers of the Legendary Crystal Warrior Diamond Heart. Now with the help of Diana, she must find her allies, defeat the Nightmares, and rescue the missing princess Rosalia.

Magical Warrior Diamond Heart is made to be played multiple times. The game has multiple endings and scene variations depending on your relationship with the cast, and characters will react to and remember previous choices you've made. Characters may even react differently depending on how the player chooses to interact with others, meaning tons of content to explore!
The free-to-play version of the game will have
- Male, female, and a nonbinary love interests to pursue for a total of FOUR adorable and distinct characters to smooch (Sophie, Ethan, Zacharie, and Opal)
- A friendship route with the fairy Amber if you'd rather not smooch anyone at all!
- Accessibility options:
- Choose between 3 font options: Quicksand, Hyperlegible, and OpenDyslexic
- Change the font size, and spacing.
- Toggle-able sound captions
- Toggle off disorienting animations
- Self-voice toggle for screen-readers (only available on desktop)
- Dark mode GUI
- Lots of achievements to unlock. Explore the story and collect them all!
- Partial English voice acting from a very talented voice cast!
- About 16 hours of content to explore!
DLC content to include:
- Even more adorable DLC characters to smooch! (Alex, Liam, Clover, Chandra, and Diana) for a total of nine romance routes
- Extra bonus episodes for the cast!
- Twice as much story as the F2P version!

how to max out my affenction to baby liam
Loved the demo! The characters all felt well-written & realistic, and I absolutely adored their designs! However, I got up to around Episode 13 on the Chandra route, when, in the warehouse, when Diana (Diane?) appeared, the camera angle completely broke and I couldn't fix it. It was sort of skewered to the right, and whilst the text was still readable, the character sprites were oddly sized, and I could only see half the background. Hopefully you guys can patch this out as soon as possible!
Hi ty for reaching out, I've been aware of this glitch for a while but only just now was FINALLY was able to replicate it! It has to do with the resolution of your screen not agreeing with the camera effects (devices that are HD width of 1920 or larger don't seem to have this issue, but slightly smaller screens do) :') I'm currently working on tweaking the code each camera effect that causes it, so I should be able to finally patch this one out soon 😭🙏🏽

there's no translations available unfortunately, since this project is so large and has so much text, translation is EXTREMELY expensive (thousands of USD just for the common route!) so I can't do TL at this time😖

I think they are referring specifically to Smile Precure. They share a lot of similarities (the fairy familiers look similar, the main antagonist of the first chapter is wolf inspired, the concept of collecting jewels to put in a magical jewelry box). That's not a bad thing though! It has enough original elements to make it unique

I just finished playing, and woah!! The level of production is absolutely impressive. Just the art alone looks so-so good, both characters and backgrounds (and other things such as special fx and ui!). And there is voice acting too?! My mind is blown.
Unironically love the over the top pink-sparkly-rainbow aesthetic. In general, the whole novel feels very nostalgic, like I am back to my childhood watching my favorite magical girl shows. As a big fan of the genre, I am happy :D It's also cool to see how diverse the cast is. Really makes the team feel unique and memorable, and I just in general appreciate seeing a more inclusive approach to characters!
It seems like a really ambitious and cool project. I can't believe I got to play so many hours of it already just for free! So I wish you lots of luck and strength with further development and look forward to the continuation!

The DLCs are not available to purchase publicly yet, since i don't feel there has been enough content for it to be fair to sell at full price. They're currently in early access for patreon supporters. Patrons get access to the download links for Liam and Alex's DLC as well as the steam keys
Should we be worried about the future of this game on itch.io seeing there reports of sfw lgbtq games being removed?
I THINK we should be good here, while i've seen a few people reporting false flags, its otherwise been pretty centered on games marked with mature tags (whether it be as an indication of nsfw content, or as a warning for the themes of the games.) Since I haven't been hit with any false flags during the initial chaos, I don't think MWDH will be removed right now, at least not for a while, and hopefully the gaming community's fighting back and pressuring the payment processors will be successful so it won't be a worry down the line ;w;
although if something happens, the game won't be lost forever at least, since it's on Steam as well (which while effected with the same credit card company pressures, They don't seem to have gotten quite as strict in the chaos as Itch has?) and it's also on Google Play for the android version, which hasn't been targeted at all for the time being. I also have my own hosting available if it became necessary to host a download link on my own, so I have our bases are pretty covered in terms of preserving this games availability

It is still being worked on, I post artwork and screenshots pretty regularly on my socials while devlogs here tend to be reserved for patch updates.
Keep in mind this isnt a live service game with scheduled updates like the likes of twisted wonderland or love in deepspace (really think more like deltarune? in that I'm the only one making it and it gets updated when I'm able to)

Question: you mention paid is teice the story, does that mean it ADDS that much? or that the free version is eviscerated to a half?
there are 5 free routes, and 5 paid routes. each route is a complete storyline, meaning twice as much story if you have the full version. now the free version doesn't eviscerate anything. I'm giving out half of it away for free on my own terms. the demo is about 8 hours long on it's own.

What's with that phasing?
Common route is the section of a visual novel before the story splits off into individual story arcs. IE the route that all other routes have in common with eachother.
I recommend watching this video about visual novel terminology in order to better understand this medium.

Thank you!! Demos on steam can not have achievements , the full version of the game on itch syncs the achievements with the full version on steam, but they're not a feature in steam demos
When I got to rainbow hearts with Liam I went to tap his little profile to see what it says and it gave me a white screen w a bunch of words and the options I had were, "rollback, quit, return" n some other things I can't remember, i play on android ! Alex needs to be at yellow hearts/best friends level to get through his version of e13 otherwise you'd have to hangout with someone else (Right now, only Liam is available but Ethan should be available soon this month too)
If Val has a crush on Alex though, he needs to be at pink hearts. OR he can be at green hearts if Liam is at pink hearts

Hello! First of all I love this game! I remember downloading it a while ago and playing till Episode 9! I absolutely love the concepts, art, and story (and it's the right kind of work to scratch my Inclusive Magical Girl Video Game itch). Again, love this piece of work, I can feel all the effort (and time, and revisions) you put into this! Now, onto my second point...
OMG HELP- I downloaded the new update just now and I got a bazillion error codes- I tried playing without them (but I had to play the game from the start), and I got to the end of Episode 2 then it crashed... Is it something wrong with my computer? Or the itch.io file? Cause it seems to work fine for everyone else-

Basically it's trying to pull a file that no longer exists for some reason (it wants to use the old main menu background art despite it being replaced) i've seen similar bugs before where it's for some reason trying to grab files or displaying images sometimes that haven't been used in an extremely long time.
deleting the game (and any other stray copies you might have) and reinstalling it entirely seems to work. it's not an issue with entirely fresh installs, though, and it's not an error i can replicate on my end either
If deleting the cache and reinstalling it isn't working you might wanna try grabbing it through steam instead since i feel like it's an issue with the way the itch app is installing updates.
Thanks! I think my mistake was that I copied the new files into the old folder, and the copies were replaced by the files in the new folder. And I've sorted it! Can't wait to get back in.

As a black/hispanic girl who loves sailor moon/magic girl concept but has never really seen myself presented in that side of the media, It made me so emotional and happy to finally see that in your work. From her personality, to the fashion, interests, kind nature, constant anxiety, shortness lol and overall appearance, I genuinely saw myself in Val. 🥹Thank you for that. 💖Also the inclusivity in general is gorgeous!! Being bi myself, it was so refreshing to finally play a game that was so respectful to the community, and was open to many love routes. Your passion & hard work for the series really shows in every single episode. It's so so so fun, funny, colorful, and addicting! lol. I LOVE THIS GAME OML- i was stuck at the first two bad endings, and i admit- i cheated, and used the website, BUT OMFG THE ART IS SO CUTE AND THE STORYLINE (as cringy as it might seem) IS PRETTY F-CKING COOL
WAIITT THERE ARE GOOD ENDINGS? THE ENDING I GOT (not rlly am ending but what the developer is still continuing) was with that Luna girl who looks like Valerie , is that a bad ending? I didn't know there was good endings!
The "endings" so to speak are
the 2 game overs in e7 (Val giving up or failing to defeat the Nightmare)
a gameover in Alex E13 (Having low relationship with him when visiting)
and then the 3 (soon 4 as another will be added in the next update) E14 endings: Kidnapped, Alex saves Val, Liam saved Val. Chandra's is unreachable currently but once her e13 is done and updated into the game you'll be able to get a version with her as well.
I started this on my phone and I am loving it. It’s like if precure had a game cousin that is queer. I can’t stop picking up on stuff that reminds me of various precure series, especially doki doki precure with the phone transformation and smile precure with the wolf guy who reminds me of wolfrun. I do wonder about opal's route. will it include us swaying them to our side, the side of dreams, or Opal swaying us to their side, the side of nightmares...either way would be interesting. especially seeing a villain arc for our MC, but also trying to redeem Opal would probably also be neat.
Will this story go into any deep topics, like ethics, philosophy, or anything? I wonder if it will be a subversion of the tropes of the older magical girl things, there are a lot of cliches, so that means there are many things that could or could not be subverted...either way, I def will get this game once it's purchasable on steam.
Some routes do discuss ethics and morality, particularly Alex who is otherwise a pacifist and deeply dislikes fighting. I wouldn't necessarily describe the story as a subversion, but there are some deeper topics that get discussed and and the magic does tie in symbolically into different themes in each route

Yes, Sophie, Liam, Zacharie, and Chandra are all autistic with Zacharie being autism + ADHD (the protagonist, Valerie also has ADHD n_n)
