The Crystal Kingdom of Chalcedonia was once a beautiful place, under the rule of Princess Rosalia, they lived happy peaceful lives. Until one day, monsters called Nightmares destroyed the kingdom. Princess Rosalia and her fairy knight Diana hid deep in the castle, praying that their last hope, the magical Rose Crystal Mirror would produce a miracle, and save their home, however, they were attacked by the leader of the Nightmare Agency, Druzy. Diana fought helplessly before finding herself transported to Earth, but her Princess was nowhere to be seen.
Unfortunately, the nightmares began to attack this new world too. Valerie Amaranth, an ordinary 16-year-old, has her world changed forever when she receives the powers of the Legendary Crystal Warrior Diamond Heart. Now with the help of Diana, she must find her allies, defeat the Nightmares, and rescue the missing princess Rosalia.

Magical Warrior Diamond Heart is made to be played multiple times. The game has multiple endings and scene variations depending on your relationship with the cast, and characters will react to and remember previous choices you've made. Characters may even react differently depending on how the player chooses to interact with others, meaning tons of content to explore!
The free-to-play version of the game will have
- Male, female, and a nonbinary love interests to pursue for a total of FOUR adorable and distinct characters to smooch (Sophie, Ethan, Zacharie, and Opal)
- A friendship route with the fairy Amber if you'd rather not smooch anyone at all!
- Accessibility options:
- Choose between 3 font options: Quicksand, Hyperlegible, and OpenDyslexic
- Change the font size, and spacing.
- Toggle-able sound captions
- Toggle off disorienting animations
- Self-voice toggle for screen-readers (only available on desktop)
- Dark mode GUI
- Lots of achievements to unlock. Explore the story and collect them all!
- Partial English voice acting from a very talented voice cast!
- About 16 hours of content to explore!

If Val has a crush on Alex though, he needs to be at pink hearts. OR he can be at green hearts if Liam is at pink hearts

Hello! First of all I love this game! I remember downloading it a while ago and playing till Episode 9! I absolutely love the concepts, art, and story (and it's the right kind of work to scratch my Inclusive Magical Girl Video Game itch). Again, love this piece of work, I can feel all the effort (and time, and revisions) you put into this! Now, onto my second point...
OMG HELP- I downloaded the new update just now and I got a bazillion error codes- I tried playing without them (but I had to play the game from the start), and I got to the end of Episode 2 then it crashed... Is it something wrong with my computer? Or the itch.io file? Cause it seems to work fine for everyone else-

Basically it's trying to pull a file that no longer exists for some reason (it wants to use the old main menu background art despite it being replaced) i've seen similar bugs before where it's for some reason trying to grab files or displaying images sometimes that haven't been used in an extremely long time.
deleting the game (and any other stray copies you might have) and reinstalling it entirely seems to work. it's not an issue with entirely fresh installs, though, and it's not an error i can replicate on my end either
If deleting the cache and reinstalling it isn't working you might wanna try grabbing it through steam instead since i feel like it's an issue with the way the itch app is installing updates.
Thanks! I think my mistake was that I copied the new files into the old folder, and the copies were replaced by the files in the new folder. And I've sorted it! Can't wait to get back in.
And am currently resisting the urge to play it in my revision time-

As a black/hispanic girl who loves sailor moon/magic girl concept but has never really seen myself presented in that side of the media, It made me so emotional and happy to finally see that in your work. From her personality, to the fashion, interests, kind nature, constant anxiety, shortness lol and overall appearance, I genuinely saw myself in Val. 🥹Thank you for that. 💖Also the inclusivity in general is gorgeous!! Being bi myself, it was so refreshing to finally play a game that was so respectful to the community, and was open to many love routes. Your passion & hard work for the series really shows in every single episode. It's so so so fun, funny, colorful, and addicting! lol. I started this on my phone and I am loving it. It’s like if precure had a game cousin that is queer. I can’t stop picking up on stuff that reminds me of various precure series, especially doki doki precure with the phone transformation and smile precure with the wolf guy who reminds me of wolfrun. I do wonder about opal's route. will it include us swaying them to our side, the side of dreams, or Opal swaying us to their side, the side of nightmares...either way would be interesting. especially seeing a villain arc for our MC, but also trying to redeem Opal would probably also be neat.
Will this story go into any deep topics, like ethics, philosophy, or anything? I wonder if it will be a subversion of the tropes of the older magical girl things, there are a lot of cliches, so that means there are many things that could or could not be subverted...either way, I def will get this game once it's purchasable on steam.
Some routes do discuss ethics and morality, particularly Alex who is otherwise a pacifist and deeply dislikes fighting. I wouldn't necessarily describe the story as a subversion, but there are some deeper topics that get discussed and and the magic does tie in symbolically into different themes in each route

Yes, Sophie, Liam, Zacharie, and Chandra are all autistic with Zacharie being autism + ADHD (the protagonist, Valerie also has ADHD n_n)

The common route ends at the end of the fight in e14, and after that point, the story would permanently split into character routes.
in the full game, that particular ending would lead into Opal's route, but his story is not coded in to the game yet. Right now it serves as a "bad ending" to the common route, so the player would have a place to be sent if they didn't have enough points to unlock Liam or Alex's versions at the end
(Each pursueable character has their own variation on the fight in e14, but as of right now, only Liam and Alex's are currently available, I'm currently working on getting everyone else's versions into the game n_n;)

Wow new update. I see the character from Aikatsu in the background hehe. I love it that its such a smooth transition especially when it turn to Cgs. The voice acts is also good. I like the magical concept too, this is the type of anime's I've watched when I was a kid haha. I also love that each characters have their own characteristics. I like those sfx and how they portray their reactions eith effects like wah so cute and those tiny chibi cut ins ack

I love the game so far! Absolutely amazing work on the art, character writing, story, EVERYTHING! I'm so excited to play the full thing plus whatever you have in store for the DLC! Omg I absolutely love this game! It's amazing how every character have their own unique backstory and pronouns. The design of this game is so adorable and this game is is like no other visual novel that I have ever read. I'm looking forward to all the future updates. Happy new year!
No. You can not customize the casts pronouns or names as the protagonist and all of the characters are established characters with set personalities.
Um well. OK.
1. in this instance, the character's personalities very much do have to do with their chosen pronouns, this is part of their writing and their characterization. it's not a frivolous character trait. They aren't paper dolls for the player to customize however they like.
and 2. it's extremely weird to expect the ability to change an established, non-customizable character's pronouns at all. This isn't a kingdom or god simulation where you are in charge of everyone, it's a narrative visual novel. And it's especially an odd request for trans and non-binary characters. This would be a horrendous idea to implement and would only encourage transphobia and bad-faith arguing that the character's gender's are "up for interpretation". We live in a world where transphobes demand that trans people change their language and presentation for cis comfort. Because it's "weird" or "hard to understand" and it's just "easier" to use a different term. While I am not saying that YOU'RE asking this because their transness makes you feel discomfort, I do think this is something you should keep in mind next time you get it in your head to request something like this.

This is about SPECIFIC CHARACTERS pronouns. Specific characters with SET CHARACTERIZATIONS. You can not change this SPECIFIC person's pronouns because in this story, and in this game, much like real life, it's not YOUR decision what OTHER people's pronouns are.

i love this game so so so much!!!!!! i found it from a lil video on my tiktok fyp it had me in TEARS ( not even bc i was sentimental ) bc this game is just. mwah. ever since ive played it and it has changed my life. my skin is clear and my depression has been reversed. the game ui is literally so helpful and cute too like get u a girl who can do both. i love every character in this game!!!! even if this is just the demo its so addicting... like i just wanna keep coming back and look at the pretty artwork and experience this game. if u like mahou shoujo, homosexuality, and good art this game is for u! <3
Oh my gosh okay!! So I just finished playing 3 routes (as far as possible at least) and this game is just so much fun!! It just gets more and more compelling with each chapter! I can tell just how much love is being put into this game, especially with how long it's been in production while constantly updating. I first came across MWDH about 6 years ago, but until recently I just thought it had been abandoned... then I found out... it wasn't abandoned! I'm just so happy to come back to it after all this time and see it flourish! Congratulations to everyone working on this game, you all truly did (and are still doing) a wonderful job!!!!! I hope to keep supporting you all!!!!!!!

I just finished what's existing of Liam's route. I can't wait for more content of this game!! It's so engaging and well made, as well as having extremely lovable characters. Another thing I like is that Valerie is a well designed main character instead of being those 'blank slate' type people. Best visual novel I've played!!!

I've seen videos of the developer redesigning yandere simulator characters! I already knew about the existence of this game but never tried to play! now i just want to see how the game is! lol

In character description Zacharie's pronouns are they/them, but in demo people use he/him. I don't understand, why, and it doesn't seem right.Last comment is not relevant anymore. Just finished playing new chapters (8-12) and I liked them as well.ABSOLUTELY adorable game!!! i only wish that i had the option to be a bit nicer to ethan... i feel bad about the nonsense i put him through, teasing him, ditching him at the cafe, etc.
